About us
 
gpp is a global consultancy. gpp principals and affiliated partners are subject matter experts with extensive hands-on experience with teams, organizations and companies of all sizes.  gpp was formed in order to provide consulting and appraisal services as well to assist coordinating and communicating industry-wide improvement activities. 

Managing Principal, Larry McCarthy, has over 25 years of global experience in software and systems development, technical services and process-based management. He is an SEI-certified SCAMPI High Maturity Lead AppraiserSM and has led and participated in over 60 CMM® and CMMI® based assessments in addition to formal reviews and audits based on other models and standards. Larry is a member of the CMMI® Steering Group and has served on the SEI's Lead Appraiser Advisory Board and other industry working groups. He has recently been trained and approved to lead appraisals of the CERT Resilience Management Model (CERT-RMM®).

Prior to forming gpp Larry was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff and Science Advisory Board Associate at Motorola where he championed process-based management and improvement activities, led engineering process groups and mentored other assessors, managers and staff. Accomplishments at Motorola also included leading teams to start-up and improve the performance of software design centers in over 15 countries. Many of these center's achieved CMMI® Maturity Level 5 and world-class performance levels.

In addition to networking and telecommunications domains, Larry has also worked in, and with, companies developing and supporting medical, business and computer operating systems software. Current work includes consulting contracts with teams in military and aerospace environments.
